Design Communication - Arch 4/523

Architectural design development and presentation methods

How do tools, processes and representations shape design thinking?  Media is not neutral. It gives shape to ideas by prioritizing elements, sequencing operations and drawing attention to form or light. We can use a medium’s inherent nature to extend our original vision.  By creating designs, studying examples and sharing reflections, students learn how to

- use design media to generate form, explore options and present ideas.

- understand possibilities and constraints of physical and digital media
